It keeps bending/bouncing/deflecting because it is no longer structurally sound. It needs to either be replaced or you need to reinforce it by nailing the same size piece of lumber onto it. Simply measure the existing beam and cut a piece to those measurements, then nail it into place. This will fix the immediate problem by transferring the load to the new beam. After you do this have a licensed home inspector or a licensed contractor come look at your roof to make sure there isn't a larger problem that caused the beam to split in the first place.

In the middle of a 26 yr long family fued?

My entire life there has been a big line drawn in my family. My sister chose to live with my dad in ID at age 9 and I chose to live with my mom in WA. My sister never visited my mom as children growing up. As adults my mom tried to hold on to the thin relationship with my sister but my sister had no desire to have a relationship and she cut all ties with my mom about 8 yrs ago. My dad has always been a horrible father, he was abusive physically and emotionally so I was never close to him but I tried because he is my dad. Well here we are, Im 26 my sister is 30 and I feel like I am stuck in the middle of this silent but vicious family feud. I now live in ID and I remain close to my mom even though she still lives in WA. We talk every week and I try and visit her during spring breaks, summer vacation, and sometimes Christmas. My sister refuses to acknowledge her exisitence but then hammers me with questions when I come back from seeing her. Around birthdays or holidays there is always an onslaught of questions about whether I received a phone call/gifts etc. I always do but I hate being cornered. There's definetly depth in these lines. My focus is on the 10th line, because "the" is not capitalized, wheras the other lines are. Is this emphasis intentional? zephyr is may be meant as an automobile, driving fast, but I looked at Wikipedia and Zephyr is a greek god and they're noticed by their weather/season conditions, this describes an intense speed of zephyr. there's a deeper meaning to Zephyr in relation to Odysseus. In the second stanza, you're describing plot really well with great descriptive words. The use of "mire" is effective. In the third stanza, there's a seemingly contradiction, because sunshine under wrists shouldn't be followed by fragile and weak. Yet, this contradiction adds layers to the poem. This contradiction works. And the rest of the lines in that stanza are interpretable (in relation to how the pieces fit together in other lines), which does get the reader thinking. Yus, this works too. The ending is effective. You don't reveal information that's closing, so you keep your reader purging. Overall, this poem works.

Stress fracture or nothing to worry about?

I am on a track team hurdle crew which practices indoors for th te being, on hardwood gym floors. My left leg began to hurt about a week ago. At first I thought it was a shun splint, but when researching i had mire stress fracture symptoms than shin splints. I have been icing my leg, and this week my coach is having me do a minimal amount of work so it doesn't worsen. But he told me it can't be a tibial stress fracture because those are rare, and it would be too painful to walk, although I dout that. Is it true though? Would I be unable to walk if it's a stress fracture? I tried the hop up stairs technique and could barely hop up once without major pain. I know I should go see a doctor but is it worth it if it's just a bad case of shin splints and not even a stess fracture? My symptoms are a localized pain in the center of my calf on the inside and front bone, almost like a horizontal band of pain, icing it doesn't seem to help, nor does my leg brace, when I do practice, it doesn't hurt doing stretches, but once we start running it slowly begins to get more and more painful, to the point that I have had to stop all together. And when u finish a workout it's just an ache. I have felt a very slight pain when I walk, and starting today, when I am resting, a shot of small pain starts in my calf and shoots up.

Why are dental crowns overrated?

I don't think you've thought this through. You say crowns are worthless but then say I will get it extracted and then get a bridge. Look up what a bridge actually is. It's basically 3 crowns stuck together. They have to take down the teeth on both sides of the "gap" down to "stubs" so the bridge will have something to attach to. You're complaining it's stupid to spend money and grind down one tooth and instead you'll wait for a tooth to break, go through having it extracted, have the teeth on either side "widdled down to a stub" and then pay the equivalent of 3 crowns plus the extraction?? My office charges $825 for a crown. That bridge would be 3 teeth so 3 * $825 plus $125 for the extraction...so about $2600. Doesn't make sense really but it's your money. Crowns are cemented to healthy teeth. Unless he is a scam artist, your dentist should remove all the bad portion of your tooth and rebuild it if he needs to so the crown can seat properly and securely. Bridges leak just like single crowns do so you may to pay that all over again at some point. We just had to replace a bridge on my dad but he had his for 40+ years. It all depends on the quality of the work and how you take care of your teeth after it's done. Just like everything else...bad work and poor maintenance and nothing will last long.

Is this normal C-Section recovery, or something of concern?

None of this is good enough. I've had two c-sections, first one was ok recovey, but the second I had adhesions (where they have stitched the muscles with the 'hole' in tummy), and this caused the sharp shooting pain in one side, similar to what you are saying. They also left some placenta in the uterus which was causing continued bleeding and pain. I'm not a doctor, and I can't be sure what problem you have, but I can say for sure that this is not normal, and not good enough. Go and see a different doctor to get fixed, and then speak to a lawyer to sue for negligence, because that is what this is. Good luck and godspeed.

Teen son stays out all night?

He is 18 & works part time. After a falling out, can there be forgiveness & mending of a relationship?

This was a relationship involving 2 people in 30's. Everything was going as good as it could. I'm neither. One thing that I do believe is that we should expand independently owned businesses in order to open more positions for the unemployed. I also believe that those on welfare, food stamps and section 8 should have to work for 10 hours a day. If you have a Cadillac and can't feed your kids, trade it in for a hooptie and than you can get food stamps.

Can a wild baby bird's wing be fixed?

A baby sparrow ran into my leg yesterday and I did what I could. I've called around town and many vets don't want to take in this bird to mend its wing. One lady I called (who was very rude and blunt) said the birds wing cannot be fixed, that it will have to be euthanized. And sparrows aren't endangered so there's nothing that can be done. She also says it will starve to death. Is this true? Should I give up? If I do find a vet that will see this bird say the same thing? I thought that wings could always get fixed as long as there's a wing to fix?!

Belly button ring and pregancy?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and looking at mine right now - I'm 17. The hole itself is most likely closed, haven't tried fitting anything in there, but you CAN purchase pregnancy belly button rings that are plastic and stretch rather than metal. It was doing good until about three weeks ago. I have ZERO stretch marks anywhere on my body except right inbetween my belly button and the piercing hole for some reason. Two lines going crooked.... I have a slight problem with the sims 3?

I have never had problems with the Sims 3 until now. I have expanded my game and I'm having a serious glitch on all of active households in the sims. I am supposed to have 5 in one household but only 3 sims show up on the active sims bar. I don't know how to fix this I tried to evacuate them and move them into a new house it wouldn't let me do that. When I try to do anything with this particular family of sims my game stops responding and I have to close it. One sim aged up on the game before it started glitching and a new one was born, I saved my game shortly after but I don't think it should get rid of my sims from my active household. Can crying a lot at 6 weeks cause a miscarriage?

I have been crying for about 20 min and it wasn't soft cries it was mire like coughing and panting. Could this harm the baby I'm only 6 weeks.
